I am sorry and also ashamed of the way Southhampton (Albion) brass band was treated by South Hams District Council when they booked the bandstand back in April.

A request for chairs was greeted with the response “bring your own”.

So the elderly residents and visitors squeezed four on a bench and sat on walls, while the fold-up chairs stayed locked in the little store.

The programme was delightful. Please do not let the council responsible for that occasion spoil anymore.
