The Rowcroft Hospice Boutique hosted an Autumn Winter fashion preview showcasing the new season of designer pieces and new stock in the autumnal range.
On Thursday, September 13, in Dartmouth, guests were welcomed with a glass of fiz and canapes provided by Café Alf Resco for the boutique’s fashion preview.
The hospice helps over 2,000 people living with life limiting illnesses in South Devon.
Rowcroft Boutique manager, Amy Nichols said: “We would like to say a huge thank you to all of our lovely supporters who attended the event on Thursday evening.
“The boutique raised £872 in an hour and a half. There was such an exciting atmosphere with so many loyal customers, local businesses and Dartmouth visitors-we were packed.
“We have heard some lovely feedback about the new collection and we are thrilled to start the new season with so much local support.”
Top designer items of the evening included a Karen Millen leather jacket, a Jaeger cashmere jumper and a Paul Costelloe handbag.
The collection of new stock showcased a selection of knitwear from ponchos to capes, in autumnal colours, from mustard to burgundy.
Amy added: “This September catwalks have given retro colours a new appeal and this is very much reflected in the new collection.
“The flattering silhouettes, textures and tones are very on trend and look fantastic with layering and statement accessories.
“Shopping at a Rowcroft Boutique is a great way to support a local charity by buying beautiful donated or new pieces of clothing.”
The boutique also stocks a variety of new and pre-loved ladies and mens clothing as well as handbags, shoes and other accessories. It is open from 9am to 4.30pm from Monday to Saturday and from 10am to 4pm on Sunday.
Associate Director of retail, Caroline Wannell said: “Our range of carefully selected new goods has been very warmly received so far.
“This new retail venture may only represent five per cent of our total retail sales but still provided a vital source of revenue to support patients and families.
“Since launching in April, we have raised additional funds of over £30,000 to do just this.
“In terms of patient care, this income will allow us to care for an additional 30 patients in their own home.
“This will make a significant difference to so many people in our community across South Devon.”
Rowcroft now has 16 shops across South Devon including three furniture outlets in Paignton, Torquay and Newton Abbot, boutique shops in Wellswood and Dartmouth and a coffee shop in Churston.
