Called the ‘Bubble Rush’ the run will take place on Saturday, September 9th, at Torbay Velopark.
Daniel Robson, Rowcroft’s Events Manager, explained, “it is a fun run with a difference to which we invite families with children over three-years-old to walk, dance or even toddle their way around an easy 5k route while being showered in thousands of colourful bubbles.
“We thought it was time to offer local families a new and novel way to support their local hospice; and what better way than by showering adults and children alike with thousands of foamy, light, colourful bubbles?
“We’re planning a full day of frothy fun for the whole family, with cannons blasting bubbles along the route, music from The Breeze and a delicious selection of food and drinks stalls.”
Rowcroft is inviting families who’d like to take part in the 5k fun run to visit www.rowcrofthospice.org.uk/bubble-rush to sign up for exclusive priority booking.
Daniel explained: “On May 22nd we will be sending an email to all those who have signed up for priority booking with an exclusive discount code that will get you £5 off each adult ticket price. General registration will then open on Wednesday June 14th.
“Full price tickets will cost £20 per adult (£15 with a discount code!), £8 per child (aged 3 – 16-years-old) and £40 per family (two adults and two children).
“Once signed up, we ask that all families taking part raise as much in sponsorship as possible to help local families living with life-limiting illnesses in South Devon to share precious time together.”
Rowcroft is a local hospice that provides comfort, support and specialist care to over 2,000 patients and their loved ones across South Devon each year,
Tara Jones, whose mother was cared for by Rowcroft earlier this year, commented: “Rowcroft made such a huge difference to my Mum, she was admitted to the hospice’s Inpatient Unit for two weeks and came out a different person; eating again and with her mojo back”
“Rowcroft helped our family share so many special moments, including taking my daughter’s new puppy in to show their Nanny, giving us memory boxes that my daughters made with my Mum, and helping us all have a last Christmas together.
“One day someone you love may need to go into the hospice so if you can help your local hospice by fundraising, it would be extremely amazing!”
Tara, and her family, are now doing all they can to raise funds for the hospice.
