Brian Parker, of Cross-parks, Dartmouth, writes: I was dismayed to read of the disruption to the Christmas Day lunch for the needy and lonely by former town and district councillor Brian Boughton. The splendid efforts of the food bank volunteers and others, giving their time and energy on this day, deserve the highest commendation; the reported antisocial antics of the one-time councillor the strongest condemnation. Dr Boughton promotes his belief in atheism with all the vigour of the extremist religious zealot. Yet he does so appearing to be intellectually challenged. Not long back he was claiming that the Large Hadron Collider would provide the answer to life and everything.  Now he writes that he hopes Karl Stone of the Methodist church 'rots in hell'. Such words, coming from an atheist, are of course quite meaningless.
