Having just read the programme for the forthcoming Port of Dartmouth Royal Regatta, I have to ask if the chairman and committee know the meaning of the word ‘regatta’. It would seem not.

A quick look in a dictionary would enlighten them – then perhaps next year we may have a proper regatta, as in times past.
