This Regatta reminded me of the time HMS Somerset was a guardship a few years ago and when my daughter had overstayed her time enjoying partytime in Dartmouth she had missed the last ferry to Kingswear and hailed some sailors on the pontoon who were just casting off, 'where are you off to?' she called, 'Somerset' they responded. She replied 'Blimey, I'm only going to Kingswear can you drop me off on the way?' They laughed and promptly dropped her and her pal off !
