Further to the recent article in the Chronicle, November 27, I would like to give my support to Dartmouth Academy and share my thoughts around my experiences.

I completely understand the concerns following the Ofsted report. An ‘inadequate’ rating is something that should be taken very seriously, and that is why I am hugely confident in the leadership at the school.

A couple of weeks ago I attended an evening event at the academy, during which acting principal Tina Graham shared her focus for the future of the academy.

I was impressed by the determination, simplicity and transparency of her plans going forward.

For me, Tina has changed the whole dynamics of the school for the better and already there is a positive attitude as soon as you walk through the door.

I was so impressed with that evening that when I was asked to be an interviewer for careers day I had no hesitation in taking time off work to help out.

I thoroughly enjoyed the day and the students were a credit to the school.

I look forward to seeing the ongoing improvement in the academy, which I have already witnessed under the leadership of Tina.
