Dartmouth Indoor Pool trustees cracked open the champagne on the steps of South Hams Council's Follaton House HQ yesterday after councillors on the executive committee agreed to transfer land for the pool to either Dartmouth Town Council or the trust.

An agreement must be signed by July 3 for the deal to go ahead.

Trustees, town councillors and South Hams officers are expected to meet early next week to thrash out the final deal.
