W F CAWTHORNE, of Church Road, Dartmouth, writes:
I have such happy memories of Kingswear's Lighthouse Cove during and after the Second World War.
It was the only beach available to the youngsters at that time owing to the boom across the Dart to deter submarines entering the river.
Many happy times were had there, swimming and fishing in the rock pools.
The lantern light was on a huge rock which we loved to climb.
They were happy times for local children and it was very sad when it was closed to the public.
