WENDY LAUD, of Lower Coltscombe, Slapton, writes:
As a resident of Lower Coltscombe, I would like to express my surprise at the comments included in the article about the planned woodland retreat with disabled access, near Slapton.
It states that Paddy Costeloe and his partner Nettie have, and I quote, 'given careful consideration to comments from residents and have taken it upon themselves to try to alleviate any concerns over a loud holiday park'.
In early January, Paddy and Nettie requested at very short notice a meeting with all the residents of the six barns and farmhouse that make up Lower Coltscombe and, unfortunately, only two couples were able to attend.
At this meeting, at which only preliminary plans were available, concerns were expressed and we were left with the impression that a further meeting, when all the residents would have a chance to attend, would be arranged.
This has not happened.
None of our concerns have been addressed and questions sent by email have not been fully answered.
I am very supportive of the need to provide access and facilities for the disabled and understand the many problems they face, as my late mother was severely disabled for the last 14 years of her life.
But the proposed development does not comply with the South Hams local development framework DP13, so should not, under any circumstances, be given planning permission.
