With reference to the article pubished in last Friday's Chronicle regarding the Windward Nursing Home closure, I would like to add the following:

Your information regarding dates is incorrect.

My parents, Ann and Nigel Oliphant were responsible for the building and subsequent opening of the Windward Nursing Home extension in November 1986.

Prior to this it had been a family home since 1965, and in 1981 they turned one room into residential care, slowly adding room by room, until the aforementioned nursing extension was officially opened – not in 1996 – as covered by the Chronicle.
