Don Campbell, of Vicarage Hill, Dartmouth, writes:

MP Sarah Wollaston needs to get her facts right. She stated that ‘almost three-quarters of those under 24 voted to remain’ in the EU. This is highly misleading and typical of the sort of inaccuracies that riddled the campaigns of both sides.

We are reliably informed by the media, supposedly, that only 40 per cent of eligible young adults actually registered to vote. Of those who registered, it is true that 75 per cent voted to remain. This actually means that 30 per cent of young adults voted to remain and the remaining 70 per cent either voted to leave or couldn’t care less one way or the other.

What a hard way to learn how democracy works. If there ever is another vote, perhaps more of them might participate.

Yes, it does take five minutes’ more effort than simply ticking the ‘Like’ box on Facebook.
