Does anyone understand the logic behind Devon County Council's cunning plan to remove so much of the town's parking? Surely they should be helping to find more parking spaces – not fewer! It seems a perverse way to approach our mounting traffic problems, most of which only apply in high summer. Do they know something we don't?

Is it to free up more winter spaces in the town for all those flying pigs and little green men holidaying in the town, here to buy endless paintings and stuff themselves silly in our restaurants?
