DIANE LYON, of Victoria Road, Dartmouth, writes:
As treasurer and committee member of the Dart Music Festival, I am writing to register my dismay and frustration at a headline on Friday, March 9.
The headline reads: 'Cafe to become festival boozer!' This is the most inflammatory healine and one that would worry a lot of people. Why couldn't the headline be 'Council support music festival with use of Community Corner'?
To have such negativity in headline reporting is extremely demoralising to the organisers who spend many, many hours of their spare time devoted to this event every year and I think they deserve an apology from the Chronicle.
The music booked to play is a mix of folk, trad jazz, classical and orchestral, between the hours of noon to 7pm.
This will, hopefully, encourage lots of people to visit the Market Square and its interesting shops, enjoy good music, excellent food and now, with the support of the council and Bays Brewery, have a pint of beer. Perhaps your reporter will be one of those people!
