Dartmouth Museum curator Brian Langworthy has died suddenly after being rushed to hospital where he lapsed into a coma.
The former town and district councillor, businessman, fireman and Old Dartmothian fell ill a fortnight ago and was taken to Torbay Hospital where he died on Wednesday night.
Mr Langworthy, 72, was chairman of the St Petrox Trust Lands charity, a one-time captain of the Dartmouth Rowing Club, and served as both a town and district councillor for Dartmouth at in the 1980s.
He was also a member of the Head of Dart Race committee.
