DE MAULE, of Nottingham-shire, writes: I am writing following a wonderful week spent in the town of Dartmouth. I am elderly – 80-plus – but found the town easy to get around and the service from shops and restaurants a delight. It is clear that the town and its people take great pride in Dartmouth and are welcoming to all. However, I was certainly disappointed and a bit shocked to see that some local people choose to hog the town parking spots by placing motorcycles in public places when they were away in their cars. Each day as I walked along Roseville Street I witnessed cars being swapped for motorcycles, presumably to reserve the spots for 24 hours. I don't drive anymore, so it matters not to me, and I don't suppose it is illegal, but it certainly seems selfish and bordering on antisocial behaviour. Is this commonplace in Dartmouth? I trust not.
