Peter Pudduck, of Wood Lane, Kingswear, writes:
I do wish that Cllr Trevorrow and the people who he actively supports would stop using the word ‘majority’.
The majority of people in the parish of Kingswear, which is considerably bigger than the village, neither know nor could care less about the carryings-on of the parish council.
Cllr Trevorrow deliberately gagged the council from discussing an agenda item concerning the position of the chairman while allowing a member of the public to read out a petition that appeared to libel three fellow councillors.
The comment he made in his letter, Chronicle, September 25, was incorrect as, at that point of the meeting there had been no mention of the playground .
Cllr Trevorrow talks of returning to a balanced way of functioning. As acting chairman at that meeting he had a duty of care to his fellow councillors. However, he did not ensure that the meeting was conducted in an orderly fashion and allowed personal criticism and acrimony to hold sway.
The second playground for the 10 young people in this village who might use it is a done deal – the king is back on his throne.
We do not need any more correspondence – let the council get back to more important things such as cutting hedges and unblocking drains etc.
