I wondered how long it would take for MP Dr Sarah Wollaston’s lack of real world knowledge to begin to dawn on her constituents and impact on people directly within her constituency.

She is the chairman of what she claims is the “highly influential Health Select Committee”, yet is unable to have any impact at all in resolving the major concerns of her Dartmouth constituents about losing their only hospital.

She can’t even be bothered to attend a public meeting and prefers to blame the clinical commissinng group.

Influential? Hardly.

I have met her a number of times and what quite clearly comes across is her absolute zero grasp of business.

As an example, at a meeting in Dartmouth just after her flip- flop from leaver to remainer, she showed no understanding at all about how TUPE – a central plank of UK and EU labour laws – works but she did not shrink from offering an opinion on it.

She now positions herself to obstruct the Government from delivering Brexit while being a representative of a county which mainly voted for leaving.

Perhaps she has become so caught up in the bubble that is Westminster and being “influential” she has forgotten what her role in life is. It is to represent us her constituents who pay her wages and expenses.

Influential? Hardly. This is the true scandal behind the closure of our hospital.

An MP, and a former doctor at that, who has lost sight of why and how she was elected.

Do the decent thing Dr Wollaston and stand down now. When I am elected in her place, I will dedicate 100 per cent (or as Britian’s Got Talent judges would have it, one million per cent) of my time to you my constituents.

No “influential” committees for me. Up the revolution!
