Cllr J Hawkins Chairman Kingswear Parish Council and Cllr P Allen, Mayor of Dartmouth, write:

On behalf of Kingswear and Dartmouth Town Councils, may we jointly thank the organisers and participants in the Flotilla Parade held on the River Dart to celebrate the Queens diamond jubilee on Monday, June 4.

This was truly a unique event. The joint cooperation and celebrations of inhabitants on both sides of the river bank in staging such a super event is well worthy of praise.

We look forward to celebrating the next jubilee in 10 years' time.
