In this week’s Dartmouth Chronicle we lead on a story about fuel poverty charity, National Energy Action, raising concerns about the number of people dying due to not being able to heat their homes.

The charity has estimated that there were 60 "excess" deaths in the Totnes constituency last winter that could be attributed to the weather, and that 30 per cent of those came as direct result of them not being able to heat their homes adequately.

Our picture story is of members, both past and present, of the West England Amateur Rowing Club with new appointed present, Yorkie Lomas.

Inside, we have a story about Rowcroft Hospice launching a new men-only fundraising event titled, The Male Trail. We’ve also covered the first anniversary of Devon Air Ambulance Trust’s charity shop in Dartmouth.

As always, we feature information about ’What’s On’, around the clubs, and ’Village Voices’ all inside.

Remember if you can’t get to the shops, or you have moved out of the area, you can get all South Hams Newspapers online here: http://www.southhams-today.co.uk/subscribe.cfm.
