I find it extraordinary that the chairman of Kingswear Parish Council, Cllr Jonathan Hawkins, Letters, April 27, can suggest that letters written by his own parish council, Devon County Council and an article in the Kingswear and Hillhead Reporter should be ignored on the basis that none of those who wrote the letters or published the article apparently knew what they were talking about.

I will be interested to see Cllr Hawkins offer this explanation to the inspector at the public inquiry into Lighthouse beach.

Perhaps Cllr Hawkins can think of no other explanation in respect of documents which are so damaging to the council's application.
