KEVIN PYNE, of Dartmouth, writes:
Everyone who lives in and around Dartmouth knows that the best parking system is no system and yet ever two years or so, our local, district and county councillors sneak off and try to change it when every one knows that the best system is to leave it all alone. Let the locals sort it out as best they can between themselves.
We are hounded by parking wardens – eight of who turned up on reggata Thursday and to top it all, the parking in the county lost money lord knows how.
They tell me I have a poet's mind, not a politician's, so here is my poetical offering as yet again we are forced to stave of the unnecessary advances on our freedom.
This has yet again has been instigated by councillors who should serve us and represent us and who really need the sack or replacing if they think that forcing us to spend our lives rushing out to find another place to park or having more smelly polluting cars in town is any kind of answer to a problem that yearly can only get worse.
