Kevin Pyne, of Lake Street, Dartmouth, writes:
I received a town council parking option leaflet over the weekend.
I have to say what twaddle, with the first box being unanswerable and after that all the questions loaded toward what the town council wishes to hear. They have been told time and time again to leave the parking alone and not to meddle. The only way that is fair is to let folk have parking on a first-come, first-served basis. After which it's the park and ride or nothing.
It's fairly evident that those councillors who have businesses want more money and are driving this action even if it is at all of our expense.
I am convinced if parking were free there would be little or no difference because of the costs of collecting the car parking charges.
If you don't like the parking options, write in what you do like. My advice would be just leave it alone.
We seem to being bossed around because we are daft enough to except it. It's time we told all these come-lately empire builders to shove off and live with the town the way we want it and love it.
After all, why did they come if all they can think of doing is changing it and ruining it when so many of us, including those who have recently moved here, are happy with the town as it is?
