Don Campbell, of Vicarage Hill, Dartmouth, writes:

Recently we drove up to Dartmoor for a day out. Returning to Dartmouth, we couldn't help noticing the vast acres of good agricultural land now covered by solar panels, desecrating our beautiful countryside.

This is all being paid for by us, through Government imposed 'green taxes' on our fuel bills, to subsidise the installation of these monstrosities.

It seems the Government is now at long last convinced that wind generators and solar panels are not the answer to the country's future power requirements and is now offering China a large stake in building new nuclear plants.

Instead of giving China a massive stake in these new plants and reportedly a guaranteed return on their investment, which will almost certainly ensure higher than necessary power costs, shouldn't they get their priorities right and apply all green taxes to financing them ourselves before more valuable agricultural land disappears under a carpet of solar panels?
