Mr J Reed, of Tranquil, Dartmouth, writes:

I read with much interest the letter from Jim Bunting, of the vessel the Great Gull, with his complaint about Dartmouth's harbour authority.

I find it interesting that such a well-respected local businessman from Birmingham, who owns the most beautiful, well-kept vessel in the harbour, has the right to complain in such a unprofessional way.

This year alone the harbour authority has completed many great success stories.

Dart Harbour has built a new pontoon at Stoke Gabriel; hastaken on a marine apprentice; is maintaining various pontoons, has hosted several very successful events/cruise ships; and is now finally managing the waiting lists correctly and fairly.

As I live aboard in the harbour, long may the harbour authority continue to manage this harbour in such a professional way.

Keep up the good work!
