If affordable homes are built as part of the West Dart development, you are going to need people with sustainable employment buying or renting them, and from what I can see Dartmouth does not have major business concerns that employ a lot of people, so surely you need to encourage businesses to come to the area first. Judging by reports in your newspaper, the food bank was used a great deal recently, which means some people are unemployed or not getting a living wage. One other point is that, around 10 years ago, a good friend of mine with a growing family in the town moved to Exeter because, as he pointed out, there were more opportunities for jobs and for his kids. I think that says a lot.
