FLU jabs will soon be available to patients and can be booked through the doctors surgery. Vaccination clinics will be held in the main at designated clinics in Dartmouth this autumn to ensure patient safety and the correct administering of the treatment. A spokesman from the Dartmouth Medical Practice said: 'Flu vaccination is safe, effective and offered free of charge by the NHS to people who are at risk to ensure that they are protected against catching flu and developing serious complications, such as bronchitis and pneumonia. 'Serious allergic reactions to flu vaccines are very rare and with prompt treatment patients make a quick and complete recovery. 'To ensure appropriate treatment is available and rapid access to the emergency services secured, this year the flu clinics will be held at Townstal Community Hall on October 13 and at the Flavel on November 5 only. A doctor will also be onsite during these clinics. 'Whilst we recognise that this might be inconvenient for some of you, it is our overriding responsibility to ensure your safety when administering vaccinations. 'Flu vaccinations will continue to be available at the surgery as previously with special provision for those using public transport links from outside of Dartmouth.'
