THE Junior (Little) Stoke Fleming Operatic and Dramatic Society have staged their production of The Frog Prince.

After months of planning, rehearsing and all manner of hard work both in front of and behind the scenery, the cast of more than 40 children aged between six and 13 took to the stage at Stoke Fleming Village Hall.

Show director Lynne Deller said it was an hilarious show – one of the funniest yet – and an adventure that turned fairytale conventions on their head and inside out.

Characters included an aristocratic French frog; a bumbling dragon; a wicked queen and her suave butler; an evil witch with her Mafia cat; and witches coven and a feisty heroine – not to mention a host of birds, butterflies, sheep and air hostesses.

The tuneful and witty musical score ranged from rock to tango to ballad and the talented team of choreographers added several extra dance numbers to showcase the talents of the children.
