On Friday, September 27, Eric Pickles, the secretary of state for communities and local government, produced new parking reform proposals in an effort to support local shops and high streets. Among many proposals, there is the opportunity for residents to review unnecessary yellow lines.

We, in Dartmouth, have recently completed just such a review and returned an overwhelming and resounding 'NO' to County Hall. We have jumped the gun slightly but what a coincidence! Let us hope that those in County Hall will take due note of these proposals from Mr Pickles.
