The Dart Harbour and Navigation Authority is looking for three new board members who want to make a difference to the River Dart.

The authority has statutory responsibilities for the management and conservation of the river, with the board determining its strategic policies.

Applications are being sought from ­people with a broad range of personal and professional skills.

These skills could include experience in sectors such as maritime or commercial, health and safety, public relations, shipping, fishing, finance, leisure, boating management and environmental matters.

Harbour master Rob Giles said: ‘Do you have drive, vision, independence and confidence? Do you have an ability to make a constructive contribution to group strategic thinking? Can you make tough decisions, stand by them and set strategic direction?  Then you may be who we’re looking for.’

The positions are unpaid, voluntary, public appointments.
