WITCHES' and fairies' houses were created at a Hallowe'en workshop held at the Flavel in Dartmouth.
More than 35 creative children spent two hours making magical dwellings with artist and sculptor Naomi Vincent of Naturemake.
They set about using natural and foraged materials. The young builders used everything from sticks and pebbles to dried flowers, poppy seed heads, berries and bark, as well as some more exotic items.
'There were some amazing autumn colours – reds and yellows and golds – and some youngsters even lit the houses inside using a small battery,' she said.
'Mums and dads joined in with the younger children and there was a great atmosphere. Everyone was so busy and inspired.
'I was very impressed and proud and they looked an amazing sight as they carried them home.'
Naomi's workshops are a spin-off from creating things with her own children.
She said: 'They connect children with their own artistic instincts and the beauties of the natural world, and give their parents a new outlook on family activities at home.'
