While I steadfastly support the principal of improving community amenities for residents and visitors, surely a more imaginative and practical design could have been created for the proposed extension to Dartmouth Museum.

It is depressing to learn that such an unsuitable proposal was considered and in principle approved at a presentation to the town’s councillors.

Even if councillors lack the skill to consider the wisdom of providing a potentially hot, transparent box to house historic artefacts surely, local councillors, of all people, should be acutely aware of the potential for daily seagull excrement to regularly blight the appearance of the thing.
