Wendy Rendle, of Ferndale, Dartmouth, writes:

What a lovely day – thank you Tim and your team of campanologists for the open day in St Saviour's Bell tower on June 15.

The day buzzed with activity and enthusiasm, from the mini-tower, which gave the opportunity to experience the art of bell ringing, to seeing the experts themselves pulling the ropes and being able to watch the great bells swinging back and forth in the belfry by courtesy of Joe Murtagh's video cam.

It was all accompanied by a most generous cream tea.

Visitors came from home, from Europe, from Australia and the USA – and included some quite young children.

The bells of St Saviour's rang out the message all day, that whatever may be said elsewhere that the church is very much alive and here with us in Dartmouth.
