It is a simple fact of life that two are better than one – so when there are two local specialist businesses, right next door to each other, with the same well respected team operating both, and offering complementary services, then things can only be better for their customers, old and new.

And that was the rationale behind Rob Franklin forming his new venture, Churchstow Garage Limited, to sit alongside his existing business, the specialist Churchstow MOT Centre.

With his existing established team of Richard, Dan and Josh, they can now offer an increased range of services to meet the needs of all their customers, whether businesses or individuals.

Churchstow Garage Limited will be the first port of call for businesses looking to service their fleet vehicles, especially vans as the premises are fully equipped with a large 5 metre 4.2 tonne ramp specifically designed for working on larger trade vehicles. This facility is also ideal for 4 x 4’s so of particular benefit to the many businesses in the area who rely on such vehicles and music to the ears of owners of caravans and motorhomes. “Finding a good reliable local centre who can look after moderate to large sized vehicles of that type has just become a whole lot easier – we are here, on the doorstep, all ready and equipped!” said Rob.

Cambelts, clutches or diagnostics; all the usual elements you look for from a good service centre plus – now available - a competitively priced range of tyres. The investment in new tooling; a diagnostic system compatible with all makes; improved equipment and the increased space ensures that whatever your needs, Rob and his team can meet them.

Next door, Churchstow MOT Centre will continue to provide those essential checks and carry out any required repairs for their retail customers to ensure safe and legal motoring.

As Rob explained, “I recognise that cost is important to all our customers, whether they are a VAT registered business for whom VAT recovery is important or an individual retail customer looking for a good deal, and believe that between our new and existing ventures, we can support everyone in the best way for them.”

Having two adjacent premises opens up greater operating space for the team and offers scope for them to increase their customer base whilst still meeting the needs of their regulars. “Not only do we now have the potential to take on far more work, it may also create an opportunity for us to add more members to our team in the future”, added Rob. “You should never be content to stand still in business – you should be constantly looking for ways to improve the service you offer and that is what we are doing.”

Rob is continuing his family connection with the motor industry, begun when his great grandfather was chosen to train at the Morris factory in Cowley, Oxfordshire becoming the first motor mechanic in the area, bringing that first motor car all the way back to Devon. A great combination of tradition and technology …

Churchstow Garage Limited and Churchstow MOT Centre - yet another shining example of an independent local business seizing the initiative, investing in their future, and creating opportunities so why not give them your support?
