DARTMOUTH Higher Ferry will be out of service in the new year for its annual maintenance.

The ‘floating bridge’ that links Dartmouth to Kingswear will not be operating from Friday, January 8, to Sunday, January 17.

Manager Kerry Southern said: ‘We apologies to our customers for any inconvenience while essential maintenance work is carried out. We will be back in operation as soon as possible.’

Operating times for the Higher Ferry during the festive season from Dartmouth are: Christmas Eve – 6.30am – 10.45pm (last ferry from Kingswear 10.50pm); Christmas Day – 9am – 2.45pm (2.50pm); Boxing Day – 8am – 8.45pm (8.50pm); New Year’s Day – 9am – 6.45pm (6.50pm).
