Dartmouth Lower ferry float will be docked for a refit from today until the week before Christmas.

Each float will be refitted in turn, with only one out of operation at a time and extra staff are being brought in to speed up the crossings.

The annual refit is necessary to ensure the Maritime Coastguard Agency annual passenger certificate is maintained.

THE Dartmouth Higher Ferry will be out of service on Thursday evening, November 5, to allow for essential maintenance work to be carried out.

The service will be out of action from 6pm while one of the ferry wires is changed

The last ferry from Dartmouth will be at 5.45pm and the last from Kingswear at 5.50pm.
