DARTMOUTH Rotary Club members visited Dartmouth Preschool to see ‘HMS Dart’, the play equipment they funded.
The club donated £3,000 towards the furnishing and equipping of the Dartmouth Preschool.
Club president Bill Parker said: ‘Dartmouth Rotary Club considers the Dartmouth Preschool to be a valuable asset to the town.
‘It enables young mothers to take up work and our donation shows the club’s commitment to supporting the early education, welfare and the well being of the youngest members of our community.
Dartmouth Preschool teacher and deputy manager Holly Young said: ‘They’re on it all the time, they love it. It’s state of the art and has a slide and a climbing wall.’
The preschool has around 25 children on its books at the moment, aged between two and five years, with more applications coming in every day.
‘Thank you so much to Dartmouth Rotary Club, we’re very very grateful’, said Holly.
The preschool was established in 1961 and has been operating from its home at Southford Road Schoolrooms, in the heart of the the town ever since.
