THE future looks colourful for young artists at Dartmouth Academy.
Dartmouth and Kingswear Fine Arts Society has provided the students with equipment.
The donation is part of an initiative to foster a love of the arts in young people.
Members have meet students on a number of visits to the school and have now purchased sketchbooks and mount boards in preparation for their GCSE exams and the annual summer exhibition at the Flavel Arts Centre.
Sally Walley, the young arts representative of DAKFAS, said: ‘We support young arts in a variety of ways in order to enhance and encourage young people’s appreciation and understanding of art and our artistic heritage.
‘We feel it is very important that we create links with our local schools to further this aim and are always impressed by the quality of their work.’
Nicola Perrot, head of arts and design at Dartmouth Academy, said: ‘We are grateful that organisations are so supportive of young people.
‘We welcome the support of DAKFAS and are keen to foster further links.’
