A cafe has helped to fund a new shed for a primary school.
Cafe Alf Resco in Dartmouth kindly supported Blackawton Primary School in their bid to fund a new shed for the school field. Tickets sold for the event and raffle prizes raised £916.
Steve Verge, the school’s guitar teacher provided music throughout the evening. The shed was needed to store forest school equipment and all at the school are delighted with the extra space.
Many local businesses provided raffle prizes including the Seahorse, nkuku, Coombe Gallery, Dartmouth Wine Company, Jilly’s Farm shop, Roly’s Fudge, The George Inn, Dartmouth Golf and Country Club, Kendricks, Salcombe Dairy, The Flavel, Royal Castle Hotel and The Ferry Boat Inn.
Liz Riley, the secretary of the Friends of Blackawton School said: “It’s not the norm these days to do anything for free and I think Cafe Alf Resco are amazingly generous.”
