S Gilmore, of Crowthers Hill, Dartmouth, writes: It was wonderful, being woken up by the music from the disco for the revelling cadets and students at the Britannia Royal Naval College at 6am on Thursday last week. It put a smile on our faces. Even the dogs enjoyed it. It was great, listening to the music and hearing the motivating cheering, all blasting out across the town and the river. I can't understand the attitude of those sad people who object to it. They really need to get a life. It's just what Dartmouth needs every now and then, with the world growing ever closer to the threats of terrorism and a global meltdown with wars breaking out everywhere. It makes one feel proud to know that these young men and women are about to pass out on the parade ground and, from then on, they will be the ones heading out to defend our country and working to keep the peace in places just like Dartmouth. If those fools who moan about the college's early morning bash could possibly imagine ISIS or al-Qaeda, for example, attacking Dartmouth, maybe they would think again. Well done, BRNC, we are proud of you and we love to hear you all fired up and going for it. Well done you!
