A dementia awareness event will take place tomorrow at Follaton House, led by The Care Company South West.

The event, held on Wednesday, December 6, in the Council Chambers, Follaton House, Totnes, will feature guest speaker Norman McNamara, founded for Purple Angel Global.

Norman McNarmara who was diagnosed with dementia nine years ago and as a result set up Purple Angel Global.

Purple Angel Global aims to raise awareness, give hope to and empower people with dementia by giving out information on how shops, businesses and other services can support people who have these progressive diseases – both elderly and younger onset.

The event tomorrow will be exploring dementia from a person centred approach and sharing what provision is available for people living with dementia, and is open to clients, families, staff, associates and the general public in attempt to bring further awareness and understanding to the wider community.

This special event is being delivered by Sarah Sabater of The Care Company along with Tracy Graham, their Dementia Champion and Purple Angel Global who will be working towards a new service in the new year to facilitate those living with dementia.
