MELVYN STONE, of Wood-land Park, Paignton, writes: To the people who elected me as a councillor for the past 28 years, I send my appreciation to you all. I was very disappointed that I could not stand again in the 2015 election to be your ward member. I was voted out by the Conservative Party. My attendance was 100 per cent. I have done my best at all times for Dartmouth and supported everyone who contacted me from 1987 to 2015. My late wife Christine and my wife Jeannette both supported and encouraged me all the way through my terms of office, as millennium mayor 2000 for the town of Dartmouth and also when I was elected as chairman of South Hams Council for 2009-10 – may I proudly add that I am the only Dartmothian to hold such a position? Finally, along the way we made many friends who also advised me on many occasions, including town councillors Paul Allen and Steve Smith. Bless you all.

BRIAN HARRISS, of Victoria Road, Dartmouth, writes: Although I did not make it onto the town council in this election, I would like to thank all the people in Clifton Ward who voted for me.
