Pat HIPKINS, of Oakwood Close, Dartmouth, writes:

I was excited to read that Dartmouth was finally hooked up to the superfast internet a few weeks back, so I contacted BT to get my house connected.

However, they were unable to help me as their information said it was not available for me.

Confused, I contacted Openreach via their website to see what was going on. They said they were taking orders for Dartmouth, which further confused me.

However, after waiting about a week for a full reply they contacted me and said my road was not going to be connected to the new lines as it was deemed not important enough to warrant the cost.

I feel very let down that the entire Seymour Drive/ Oakwood Close and Norton View area will not be upgraded and was told to lobby my local MP to see if that will generate enough complaints that they might change their mind.

I am sure we would all like to have superfast internet on these roads but I doubt most people who live on them even know that we are not going to get upgraded, so this is the reason for my letter to you.

The more complaints that can be raised with Openreach, the more chance we might get an upgrade in the future.
