Majorie Neal, of Stoke House Gardens, Stoke Fleming, writes:

I was writing to say how pleased I was to read, Letters, July 5, that AT Freeborn of Swannaton Road, Dartmouth, has also contacted the council regarding the yellow lines and cross-hatched lines along the South Embankment.

I too have written to the council on this matter and have had no joy from the reply.

I honestly think they do not know what we are talking about. I can only guess council staff don't venture out of their offices to view the situation.

I have also spoken to two traffic wardens who just told me the fine would be £70 if I stopped there.

I am a blue badge holder and did use the toilets before the cross-hatched lines were put there. Not any more I fear.

It is high time someone really viewed the situation and used some much-needed common sense and not stupid excuses.
