STUDENTS have been getting a first hand glance of a piece of history that helped to shape the outcome of the Second World War.

A copy of the famous Enigma machine used by the code breakers of Bletchley Park has featured in a film called Grace being made by the Dartmouth Film Company.

The famous machine has been on display this summer at Dartmouth Museum, thanks to film producer Paul Potgieter of Heritage Media TV.

During its last week in Dartmouth, Paul arranged visits to both Kingsbridge Community College and Stoke Fleming Primary School where he gave a presentation to pupils about codes and code breakers.

He thanked sponsors Paul Downing and Dart Marina for making it possible to hire the enigma machine – manufactured to match an exact replica.
