Rob Giles, Dart Harbour Master, writes:
I write in response to the two letters published in the paper recently from Timothy Oade and Philippa Green. I wish to thank both for their views, as we welcome all feedback on our services.
I wish to invite both to come into the Dart Harbour office in Oxford Street, Dartmouth, for a meeting to discuss the issues they raise.
I feel we must correct one statement in these letters: that Dart Harbour moorings dragged during the storms of December 23.
This is incorrect. No Dart Harbour moorings failed, to my knowledge, over the whole Christmas period.
During the storms six larger vessels had berthing issues. In every case this was down to the vessels own berthing arrangements, not the moorings themselves.
