David Bagott, of Swannaton Road, Dartmouth, writes:

We live in one of the most beautifull towns in the country and we love to enjoy the   pleasure of being outside in our garden, terrace or balcony.

How many times have you had to head indoors closing windows and doors, and having to take the washing in when some unthinking or uncaring person lights a bonfire.

The smoke from even a small fire can produce a lot of smoke and in some cases become out of control and cause a lot of damage.

I think we should have a voluntary ban, especially in the summer months so we can all enjoy the properties and our gardens undisturbed.
