The glorious scenery of the South Hams was captured in an exhibition in aid of Cancer Research UK showing works about the local coasts and countryside.

Seas & Trees is the work of South Hams photographer Steve Oggelsby who is an experienced media, web and graphic designer.

Steve said: "Living in South Devon, I love exploring the beautiful and often dramatic Devon coastline, moorland and countryside.

Landscape photography is my passion. the ever changing seasons, light and flow of our natural environment are endlessly fascinating and combine to create a wonderful variety of texture and colour."

At the event at Soar Mill Cove Hotel, 30% of the

proceeds raised from the nights sales went to the

charity netting over £1700 so far.

The exhibition coincided with the annual Stand up to Cancer events nationwide. Marchand Petit auctioneer Stuart Cartwright MRICS took to the rostrum for a special auction of the exhibition’s highlight piece

’Path to Tranquility’ and bidding lasted for almost ten minutes as interested parties from the local area and beyond competed.

The hammer came down at £360, the successful party having attended the auction whilst on holiday for the weekend, with 100% of the proceeds from the auction going to Cancer Research UK.

affected by this disease in one way or another, and to have been asked to auction the photograph was a privilege. My many thanks go to all those that made this event a

success."
