South Hams road closures: four for motorists to avoid over the next fortnightThere is parking in the town centre at the Mayor’s Gardens car park, adjacent to the gardens and public conveniences. I estimate this generates income in excess of £1m a year – so as a welcoming gesture it has been decided to charge for using the conveniences as well. No longer a convenience.
I observed a youngish man using the alternative option this week, so money will be saved watering the gardens as well now.
As a senior citizen with a need to pay a visit fairly regularly, I would ask if, as a resident, will I be able to get a season ticket or a discount to use the inconveniences?
Any more great ideas, South Hams?
