Dennis Greygoose, of Oakleigh Drive, Swaffham, Norfolk, writes:

In September 1862, an ancestor named George Atkins Provo was lost at sea.

It is possible that his six-year -old son, William, was with him, as his wife was four months pregnant at the time and gave birth in February 1863 to another son who, in due course, was also christened William.

I am writing to ask if any readers can provide me with any information.

There was quite a strong family connection in Dartmouth and Kingswear.
